- Welcome to TTR, The Tagline Ripper. This is the program email users have
- been waiting for, now you have it!
-
-
- So what does it do then?
- ========================
- Quite simply, TTR rips those amusing (or not) little comments from the
- bottom of messages. It then puts them in a single, easy to manage, file
- that you can then keep, edit, or just throw away.
-
-
- I don't want no stinkin' CLI thing!
- ===================================
- Neither do I! This is an Amiga in the 1990s and CLI based software is for
- PC clowns. This utility is fully intuition driven and uses the ASL file
- requester for simple file location.
-
-
- Has it got funny requirements?
- ==============================
- TTR requires Kickstart 2.0 or higher and needs the CLI command Search to
- be in your C: directory.
-
-
- How do I use it then?
- =====================
- The requesters give all the help you need but heres an example TTR
- session :-
-
- i) Double-click on the TTR icon.
- ii) Click on 'Okay'
- iii) Click on 'Okay I will...' to continue or 'Nah, forget it' to quit.
- iv) Choose the directory that contains your message area files.
- v) Click on 'Okay'
-
- A file called Taglines can now be found in RAM:. If no taglines were found,
- this file will be 0 bytes.
-
-
- I bet its shareware :(
- ======================
- Nope, its GOTHWARE. If you use this and like it I suggest you send me
- something Gothic ie black. Anything, anything at all, just make sure its
- black. In return you will be put on my mailing list and will be sent the
- latest version of TTR as well as any other GOTHWARE that I have written.
-
-
- How do I contact you then?
- ==========================
- I can be contacted at any of the following addresses :-
-
- Snailmail - Gothsoft Inc
- 4 Donside
- Stratton
- Cirencester
- Gloucestershire
- GL7 2LX

-
-
- Are there bugs in it?
- =====================
- No bugs have been found.
-
-
- How about a version history
- ===========================
- 1.0 - 26/8/93
- Internal release.
- A simple tagline ripper written in 1 hour. Totally CLI based but
- gives a 'usage' help line when started without arguments. The tagline
- file it produces is very messy and contains ANY text containing
- '... ' whether a tagline or not.
-
- 1.1 - 28/8/93
- Internal release.
- Still CLI based but I have added requesters giving information and
- prompts. TTR is now Kickstart 2.0+ only.
-
- 1.2 - 29/8/93
- Internal release.
- All non taglines are now removed before a 'Tagline' file is written
- to RAM:.
-
- 1.3 - 31/8/93
- First public release.
- Asl file requester support added. TTR is now totally GUI driven and
- nolonger has CLI support.
-
-
- Will there be more revisions?
- =============================
- Possible improvements include :-
-
- o User definable output file.
- o More tidying, removing duplicate taglines.
- o Sorting into alphabetical order.
- o Progress display.
-
